Forth Worth Trip Part 1

Maggie and I went to Forth Worth this last week to visit Josh and Kelli while Mike studied for his final. I was a little nervous making the drive with Maggie to no one to help with her in the car, but she was a champ. We got there Sunday afternoon and left Friday morning. We were able to see Stephen and Shara Sunday evening and spend Monday at the Pumpkin Patch with all the kids.

It is so nice to see friends from home. It makes it feel like we don't live so far away.

Maggie LOVED the pumpkin patch because it involved some of her favorite things: other kids and being outside.

I love this photo of Spencer because I feel like it best describes his personality.

The joke of the week was all the things that Maggie would eat. I could not keep the hay out of her mouth.

I love the expression on Maggie's face on the next two photos. They make me smile.

Maggie Update

These first two photos are for my brother Josh. "Get in my belly!"

Maggie is feasting on Christ. Not the words of Christ, but Christ himself.

Maggie will stand against the couch now for several minutes. I'll place a toy on top, and she will play with it while still balancing. Still hates tummy time though.

She had a blast with the cornmeal. I found this website that had all these great activities for babies her age to help with development. She really enjoyed exploring the coarse texture of cornmeal. Good thing we were outside for this activity.

2nd Annual BYU Football Appetizer Challenge

Last year, we started a tradition to have an appetizer challenge for one of the BYU games. Last year the Andersons won with a killer dip. This year, the competition was fierce. We definitely filled our max with the number of people and kids in our apartment. A little crazy, but a lot of fun.

And the winner was the Evanson's with bacon wrapped smokies with brown sugar crumble on top. Can't wait to see what next year will bring.

Musician

Maggie is quite the little musician. She has already written her first symphony, but I don't know if the world is ready to appreciate her talent yet.

A Day at the Park

Yesterday was such a nice day and Mike didn't have much to study so we went to the park with some friends. We have been trying hard to catch Maggie laughing on video but gets distracted as soon as we pull out the camera. I love this video because it shows how much Maggie loves the outdoors and other kids.

This is Maggie's first time in a swing. She kept staring at the ground until I pulled out the camera. She is becoming quite the little model.

Broken Ankle

So many of you already know that I broke my ankle. It has been a rough week in crutches, but hopefully only two more to go. My friends here have been really supported and Mike has been amazing-doing all the stuff that I can't do. The pictures of the ankle were taken a week after the break. Most of the swelling is down (it was about the size of a tennis ball) though it still looks nasty to me.

Our little athlete

This post is for my dad. Just letting you know that your little granddaughter is going to be an athlete.
