Pink, Pink, Pink

I feel like I keep posting these random pictures of Maggie because let's be honest, there is not much going on these days for us. Mike takes his final for peds this week and will start family med the following week. I am just getting more and more pregnant, though I am in denial that we are actually going to do this whole two-kid thing. So right now, we are trying hard to get last minute projects completed and just waiting.

Here is Maggie: she needs to pick out her our outfit for the day, otherwise the flailing two-year old comes out. About 9 out of 10 days, she wants to wear, "pink, pink, pink". We have been talking about her birthday lately since it is coming up soon. When we ask what she wants, she tells me that she wants a pink and white chocolate cake with ice cream. This has all stemmed from the pinkalicious books. I think introducing a bit of blue and green when baby brother comes will be a good with for our family.

Unicorn in the Lubbock?!?!?

Did you guys know that we are about to get a unicorn in Lubbock? Well, not really, but Maggie's latest bruise is a huge bump smack in the middle of her forehead. This picture doesn't do it justice. I would say she got it from some new awesome gymnastic move she was trying out, but the reality was she was unsupervised outside when she climbed onto the stroller and face planted on the cement. I told Mike that I warned her yesterday that would happen. He replied that she is not quite 2 and I should have just put it away. Yeah, that would have probably been the better parental choice.

Our Family Valentine's Day

Mike and I aren't too big on Valentine's day because of the commercialized pressure to show each other how much we love each other on this particular day. We would rather do it on our own time and way so we were going to keep it simply this year. But then we got to thinking, we do love each and we really love Maggie. Who cares if we share that love on the same day that everyone else is also. So this was our day:

1. "Donut you know that I love you a hole lot" breakfast with doughnuts and doughnut holes.
2. Letting Maggie cover every inch of her body in pink (her favorite color): pink socks, pink leggings, pink tutu, pink shirt, and several pink hair bows.
3. Made Valentine's Day Cards and decorated the house with hearts
4. Eat pink, heart-shape pancakes for dinner
5. We babysat for our co-op so Mike and I celebrated after all the kids left and went to bed with a nice candle light lobster dinner.

It was a really nice day and I feel so blessed to have so much lunch in our family. I can't imagine there being even more love when this little boy comes in a month.

Ready for Summer

Maggie often complains about the sun being in her eyes while driving, so we went to the dollar store to pick out a pair of sunglasses to keep in the car. She saw the pink ones and feel in love. I was sad that they didn't make them in my size. We are all ready for summer, which let's be honest will star in a month or so.
