One great day

I really wanted to share my day, not to brag (let's be honest, it's not even bragging when only two people read this), but just because the baby/toddler gods blessed me big time. I offered to watch my friend's two year old boy when she had her baby. I didn't think she would actually go into labor this early, but she called me during dinner last night. Yikes, where the heck is he going to sleep. We already have one kid sleeping in the closet. Anyways, he pretty much cried for 1 1/2 hours straight even though I told his mom he was doing fine (who wants to hear that your kid is bawling when you are pushing a bowling ball out). We set up the pack and play down stairs while Mike and I camped out in our room. I was fully expecting to wake up 2-3 times during the night with him, but none the kids woke up. Yes, I said that right. We had an almost 3 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old (all birthdays are in March) and NOT A SINGLE ONE EVEN MADE A NOISE. It was the best night slept we have gotten in months.

Today, has gone so smoothly. Kids have ate great, we went to the park and came back alive and with no broken bones, I made homemade bread and soup is in the crockpot, and all the kids went down for an afternoon nap at the same time. I can't say that it has anything to do with my supermom powers (I wish I had those) or I have perfect kids (far from it), I just love these rare sweet tender mercies that helps me get through those not so great days. Some may say that this shows that we could handle three kids, but far from it. This is exhuasting. I am currently watching Friends instead of anything productive while the kids sleep.
